Choosing a domain name is not a difficult process — however, it is one that requires more thought than most people give it. Think about it, this is what people have to remember to find you on the web!
The most common mistake people make is choosing a domain name that is way to long or that is difficult to remember. Often, that great name that you just knew you were going to grab is not available and has already been registered.
A person that is not familiar with how the web works may choose to do one of two incorrect things. Either choose a very long domain or choose a domain name that is not a “.com”, such as a .net or some other TLD (the thing after the dot in your domain).
