How much does a website cost?
The cost of your website depends on how much information it will contain.
Other considerations are interactivity (user logins, Flash, forms, stores, etc.).
We ask all the questions and estimate your project based on the answers to those questions.
We will work with you and discuss how you can build a website that suits your needs and is within your budget.
We’ve developed web design packages so that you can easily see the cost of your site for the basic structure and typical features.
Anything beyond this, we will discuss what you need, specifically, and agree on a price for those services.
How long does it take to design a website?
The project timeline is different for each website. A simple 5 page website
with nothing fancy could be finished within a week, whereas more involved sites can take months.
In your proposal, we’ll give you a project timeline that outlines all phases of your project, deadlines, and an estimated project completion date.
Plus, you’ll be able to track your project from start to finish with our client portal.
What is a URL?
URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator. In short, a URL is a web address. http://www.macrodo.com/faqs is a URL.
What is a domain name?
A domain name is the “name” of a site. www.macrodo.com is our domain name.
What is hosting?
All websites are hosted somewhere.
Think of web hosting in the same way you think of a mall.
The mall hosts several stores (websites).
Some malls have different features than others, just as some web hosts have different features than others.
It is very important to check to make sure that your hosting company can supply all of the features that your website needs it to.
We can set you up with hosting that suits your needs, or if you have hosting already, we can use that too.
What is Search Engine Optimization?
Search Engine Optimization is the process of getting better search engine
results, mildly put. With the vast amount of websites today, it’s getting harder and harder to even come close to the top of search engine results.
An optimized site has a much better chance of being seen by potential viewers.
How do I get my website to show up on Google?
Websites can be submitted to all the major search engines. There are also
several search engine marketing and optimization techniques that will
help your website catch the most amount of viewers.
How do I update my website?
There are two different answers to this question.
The first is simple, we can update it for you.
If you have a general understanding of the web or will require a lot of updates, you may want to update it yourself.
Make sure you let us know this when we are discussing your project so that we can ready your site for you.
We can also set up a Content Management System that will allow for quick and easy updates, from anywhere online.
Can I get email with my website?
Yes. You can get yourname@yoursite.com as an email address.
How many pages do I need?
Planning a website is very difficult if you’ve never done it before.
When requesting your quote, give an estimated number of pages.
If you’re completely unsure, contact us for a free consultation.
The easiest way to ballpark the amount of pages your website will be is to
list the major topics. These will end up being pages. Examples could be
“Company Overview” and “Services”, or more specific topics like “Job
Opportunities” or a specific product.
Do I have to write the content for my site by myself?
No, but you will have to be involved in writing it. We can provide you with
content development services, but no one knows your business better than you.
We’ll work with you so that your content is informative and
complete.
What is the difference between Web Design & Web Development?
Our Web Design services are intended for customers that know what they
want, and can envision their project in it’s finished state.
Web Development is for customers that are unsure what to do with their website, or
they want a professional concept and content development.
With web development, Macrodo is involved in EVERY phase of the project.
